A 148hp 2.2L engine is standard on the Pontiac G5—outpowering Civic Coupe and Focus three-door—while the High-Output (HO) 173hp 2.4L Variable Valve Timing (VVT) engine powers the Pontiac G5 GT. Both feature dual overhead camshafts, aluminum blocks and cylinder heads, electronic throttle control, coil-on-plug ignition and five-year or 60,000-mile limited powertrain coverage.
